Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On November 6, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed Father Pierre Sylvain Bikono of the Obala clergy as Rector of the Propaedeutic Seminary in Nden, Cameroon.
Father Bikono is 54 years old and has been a priest for 18 years. After the propaedeutic seminary in Bafoussam (1994-1995) he studied philosophy and theology at the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé (1997-2003). He has a licentiate in theology, obtained from the same university (2010-2012). He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of the Saint Barthélemy Parish and Chaplain of the Collège Sainte Thèrèse of Mva'a (2005-2006), founding parish priest of the Saints Pierre et Paul parish of Bitsingda (2006-2012), Chaplain of the Collège Sainte Thèrèse of Mva'a a (2007-2012), Principal of the Collège Bullier of Nkolmebanga (2012-2017) and, since 2017, Rector of the Saint Joseph Minor Seminary of Efok.
