Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Gizo, Solomon Islands, presented by Bishop Luciano Capelli, S.D.B.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Peter Houhou of Auki as bishop of the diocese of Gizo, Solomon Islands.
Msgr. Houhou had received episcopal ordination in October 2018 (see Fides, 22/10/2018) as the first native Catholic Bishop of the nation. (Agenzia Fides, 16/6/2023)
