Caracas (Agenzia Fides) – On Friday, July 9, as part of the CXVI Ordinary Plenary Assembly of the Venezuelan Bishops, gathered virtually, the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), Fr. Ricardo E. Guillén, presented the “Domund 2021” campaign to the Venezuelan Episcopate. These difficult times, marked by the pandemic, have reconfigured the way of carrying out missionary and evangelizing action, for this reason the missionary campaign October 2021 wants to offer the Church in Venezuela the opportunity to reflect on the reality of the mission and communicate experiences, results achieved as well as the challenges to be faced for the future.
The 2021 campaign, as the note sent to Fides informs, is inspired by the motto proposed by Pope Francis as the theme of his message for the World Mission Day of October 24, taken from the Acts of the Apostles (4.20): ""It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard" The chosen topic is therefore: "Missionaries, witnesses of the impossible", considering the Venezuelan reality. At the center, therefore, there are situations that are impossible for men to resolve, in which the missionary, with his presence, is a witness to God's action. Ricardo Elías Guillén presented to the Bishops the manifesto prepared for this day, the materials for missionary animation and the proposal for a "solidarity race", organized by the PMS Venezuela with the aim of generating new forms of awareness and cooperation for Domund, the missionaries and the universal Church.
