AFRICA/IVORY COAST - 125 Years of Evanvelization: Contribution of the Charismatic Movements

Abidjan (Agenzia Fides) - "On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the evangelization of Ivory Coast, Rev. Eric Norbert Abekan invites representatives, members and supporters of Charismatic Renewal, new Communities and New Brotherhoods to a seminar on evangelization in Ivory Coast in his parish of Sainte Famille della Riviera in the Archdiocese of Abidjan . The seminar on "Current Challenges of Evangelization: Contributions of the Charismatic Current in Ivory Coast" will take place on January 22nd and 23rd in the Catholic parish in Abidjan.
As Fr. Eric Norbert Abekan announced, the initiative is part of the initiatives to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the country's evangelization. The climax of the celebrations is planned for this Sunday, January 24th, 2021 at Holy Spirit Cathedral in Mockeyville in the Diocese of Grand-Bassam.
The focus of the study seminar is the contribution of the charismatic movements in the Ivory Coast. It deals with different thematic areas, including: The history of evangelization in Ivory Coast: main phases up to the present day; The history of the charismatic movements and their contribution to the spiritual awakening in Ivory Coast; New brotherhoods and communities: subgroups or actors in evangelization?
The initiator of the seminar to contribute to the charismatic movement for evangelization in Ivory Coast, Fr.
