Cuautitlán (Agenzia Fides) – Fr. Rubén Alcántara Díaz, 50, judicial vicar of the diocese of Izcalli, in the municipality of Cuautitlán (Mexico), was murdered last night, Wednesday, April 18, with a knife, just before the 7pm Mass that he had to celebrate in the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, in the district of Cumbria.
The Catholic Multimedia Center gave Fides the news of the tragic event. The Secretary General of the Mexican Episcopal Conference, Mgr. Alfonso Gerardo Miranda Guardiola, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Monterrey, Nuevo León, confirmed the fact and condemned the murder of Father Alcántara Díaz.
