Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 18 January 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Mgr. Valentino Borg, of the archdiocesan clergy of Malta, as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Malta for five years (2018/2023).
The new National Director was born on December 29, 1954 and was ordained a priest on July 16, 1981. After primary school he attended secondary school in the archiepiscopal Seminary and studied philosophy and theology at the faculty of theology in Malta. After his ordination he held various positions: professor at the secondary school of the Seminary, vice parish priest and parish priest in various parishes, archdiocesan delegate for the liturgy, national director of the altar service, religious counselor in state secondary schools, director of homes for the elderly.
