AFRICA/MADAGASCAR - Archbishop of Antananarivo resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI on 7 December accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the archdiocese of Antananarivo (Madagascar), presented by Cardinal Armand Gaétan Razafindratandra in conformity with canon 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Antananarivo (Madagascar) Bishop Odon Marie Arsène Razanakolona, until now bishop of Ambanja. (S.L.)
