AMERICA/CUBA - Cuba offers 1,000 medical scholarships to Colombia peace process

Havana (Agenzia Fides) – Two days ago Colombia's Cuban ambassador, Jose Luis Ponce, informed that Cuba has awarded 1,000 scholarships to members of the Revolutionary Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) and victims of the conflict to study medicine on the island as a further contribution to the peace process in this country.
In a note sent to Fides, Ponce explained that 200 scholarships will be awarded every year for five years (100 for the FARC-EP and 100 for the victims) and will be Cuba’s contribution in the implementation process of the peace agreements. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 18/03/2017)
