AMERICA/BOLIVIA - The Pope will conclude the World Meeting of Social Movements

La Paz (Agenzia Fides) - There are already 900 participants who have confirmed their presence at the World Meeting of Social Movements to be held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from 7 to 9 July 2015. The note sent to Fides by a local source reports that the meeting will be inaugurated by Cardinal Peter Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, dicastery which is one of the promoters of the initiative.
Catholic representatives but also different social realities, will discuss the theme "The future of social movements in favor of environment". The conclusions will be delivered to the Holy Father, who will participate in the closing of the meeting as he will be in Bolivia for a pastoral visit from 8 to 10 July.
The group of international delegations is very numerous, among others there are 250 delegates from Argentina, 250 from Brazil, 50 from Chile, 10 from Colombia, 3 from Costa Rica, 2 from Haiti, 2 from the Dominican Republic, 40 from Ecuador, one from El Salvador, 4 from India, 2 from Italy, 2 from Kenya, 5 from Mexico, 2 from the United States.
