AMERICA/CUBA - Catholic radio through Internet

Havana (Agenzia Fides) - The upcoming visit of Pope Francis to the island of Cuba will be broadcast on digital radio "cristoenlinea.com". The project was born in the diocese of Saltillo, Mexico, and has developed at a national and international level, says the note sent to Fides. The Mexican priest Ignacio Flores Ramos, inventor of this initiative born eight years ago, explained that in Cuba programs are not yet broadcast live because the equipment does not yet have the necessary technical requirements. However, the program entitled "Dia a Dia" is broadcast every Thursday and Friday. The project of the Catholic digital radio station which therefore uses Internet, is already active in the regions of Monclova in Mexico, Nuevo Laredo, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Ciudad Valles, Chalco, Saltillo and now in Cuba.
