AMERICA/BRAZIL - The Bishops' of Paranà: "We too suffer with the people ..."

Wednesday, 1 April 2015

Apucarana (Agenzia Fides) - "We too suffer with the people because of violence, rural exodus, migration, conflict over land", say the Bishops of the south region 2 of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), in the concluding message of the meeting held from March 24 to 26 in Apucarana (PR).
In the message sent to Agenzia Fides, the Bishops emphasize the Jubilee for the 50 years of the diocese of Apucarana (PR) and recognize the social progress in the state, with important repercussions on current problems. The text recalls in particular the Brotherhood Campaign 2015 (see Fides 18/02/2015), the guidelines of the Pope and of the Social Doctrine of the Church to promote the common good. The region suffers in different areas because of serious conflicts over land, and this causes the exodus of rural populations. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 01/04/2015)
