Ourense (Agenzia Fides) - More than five hundred people and a hundred priests attended the funeral of father Adolfo Enríquez (77 years old), celebrated at the Shrine of Virxe do Cristal, near Vilanova dos Infantes (municipality of Celanova, Diocese of Ourense in Galicia).
The parish priest was murdered last week. His body was found on Wednesday, March 11 in a haystack behind the parish house, where he went every night to feed the cats. Probably he had been killed the day before. While police continue the investigation, the press reported that the priest was well-liked by the community and his house was open to all.
His Exc. Mgr. Leonardo Lemos Montanet, Bishop of the Diocese of Orense, who celebrated the funeral, expressed his sorrow for this "unexpected and violent" death and asked to pray for those who committed this atrocious act.
