Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on April 19, 2013 appointed rev. Don Michele Autuoro of the Archdiocese of Naples as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Italy for five years (2013-2018).
The new National Director was born on December 27, 1966 in Procida (Naples), and was ordained a priest for the diocese of Naples on 19 May 1991. He studied theology at the Pontifical Faculty of Southern Italy. Since then he has carried out his pastoral ministry in various parishes and has held positions at a diocesan level. In 2007 he was the Director of the Missionary diocesan Office and since 2011 responsible of non-Italian priests serving in the diocese in Naples. He carried out his missionary journeys in Uganda, Kenya, Guatemala, Indonesia, Madagascar. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 17/12/2013)
