ASIA/MALAYSIA - Resignation of the Bishop of Sibu and appointment of successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on December 24, 2011 accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Sibu (Malaysia), presented by His Exc. Mgr. Dominic Su Haw Chiu, in accordance with canon 401 § 2 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed His Exc. Mgr. Joseph Hii Teck Kwong, until now the titular Bishop of Castel Mediano and Auxiliary of the same diocese, Bishop of the Diocese of Sibu (Malaysia). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 28/12/2011)
