AMERICA/PERU - Resignation of the Apostolic Vicar of San José de Amazonas and appointment of the Apostolic Administrator

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On August 8, 2011 the Holy Father Benedict XVI accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Apostolic Vicariate of San José de Amazonas (Peru), presented by His Exc.Mgr. Alberto Campos Hernández, in accordance with the canon 401 § 2 of the Code of Canon Law, and appointed His Exc.Mgr. Miguel Olaortúa Laspra, O.S.A, Apostolic Vicar of Iquitos, Apostolic Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Apostolic Vicariate of San José de Amazonas.
