Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) – A workshop entitled "The Challenge of Marriage," organized by the Commission of Youth Ministry of the Diocese of Hong Kong, will be held September 5, to promote the value of Catholic marriage and the vocation to marriage. According to reports from the Kong Ko Bao (the Chinese version of the diocesan bulletin), the workshop is for youth group leaders, catechists, and pastoral workers, to help young people learn more about the Sacrament of Marriage and to share in this opportunity for receiving Christian formation on love and life.
The Commission of Youth Ministry has taken up this initiative after noting the urgent need for formation in preparation for Christian marriage. Fr. Martin Ip Po Lam, pastor of Most Holy Savior Parish and spiritual director of the Association of Catholic Students of Ling Nan University, said: "Young people need to know the value of marriage between a man and a woman, as upheld by the Church. And the Church has the duty to offer a reflection on this subject, with precise guidelines. Thus, it is very important to strengthen our commitment and pastoral activity on the vocation to marriage."
