ASIA/INDONESIA - Archbishop of Jakarta resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Pope Benedict XVI, on June 28, 2010, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Jakarta (Indonesia), presented by Cardinal Jiulius Riyadi Darmaatmadja, SJ, in accordance with canon 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law. He is succeeded by Bishop Ignatius Suharyo Hardjoatmodjo, Coadjutor Bishop of the same Archdiocese. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 28/6/2010)
