Rome (Agenzia Fides) - “Mission by young people for young people” centred around all night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: this 4th National Eucharistic Meeting will take place in Rome at the Circus Maximus during the week-end 26 and 27 June. The gathering is organised by the Basilica of Sant’Anastasia on the Palatine Hill with the collaboration of the Associazione Nazionale Papaboys. The event will begin at 3pm on Saturday 26 June with the “2nd Meeting for non profit associations” during which different associations will present their respective activities of solidarity. To follow: six hours of music and testimonials will end with a jam session involving musicians and artistes committed to Christian witness and New Evangelisation. A concelebration of the Eucharist presided by Bishop Ernesto Mandara, one of the auxiliary Bishops of Rome diocese, will open the ‘spiritual’ part of the event including all night Eucharistic Adoration, inside a large marquee with seats for more than 1,000 people, members of associations, prayer groups, youth groups, from all over the city. At 12 midday on Sunday 27 June the kermesse will culminate in St Peter's Square for the recitation of the Angelus with Pope Benedict XVI. Participants may avail themselves of Confession Tents to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and also counselling centres for young people and families in difficulty.
