La Paz (Agenzia Fides) - The Secretariat for Pastoral Ministry of the Bolivian Bishops' Conference has issued the first publication of the Compendium for ongoing formation of the laity. “I shall seek your face, Lord - Training of missionaries for the Christological mission” is the title of the first of three texts provided the missionary training. The publications for missionary training will address three themes: Christology, ecclesiology, and mission. As Father Fernando Bascopé explained, this first publication provides an introduction that shows how to read the life of Jesus, "this method invites one to read the Word from the heart, namely, make a heart-filled reading of the Word of God." The text suggests steps for achieving this reading of the Word: Illuminating the heart with the Word of God, with the light of faith, the illuminated heart is able to understand the word; Ask forgiveness from God, that His Word purifies my heart; The heart is filled with these words so as to enlighten the world with the image of Christ. The text has already been sent to 18 ecclesiastical jurisdictions for distribution: it is a tool that the laity are given in order to begin the process of mission education, “inviting them to read the Word of God with the heart, so as to proclaim Christ with the heart."
