National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies confirmed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on March 28, 2009, appointed Fr. Reynaldo Noé Franco Velásquez, of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Portoviejo, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
The new National Director was born on June 23, 1964 in Manta (Province of Manabi). He was ordained a priest on June 24, 1989. He then continued studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, earning a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology (1996). He exercised his pastoral ministry in various parishes, including the Cathedral (1996-2006). Since 2003, he has also served as Professor and Bursar of the Portoviejo Major Seminary.
