Wednesday, 24 September 2008

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The greatest international experts in pediatric cardiology, pulmonology, gynecology, immunology, metabolism, and neurology will come together on September 25, 26, 27 at the Auditorium Hall of the Pontifical Urbaniana University for the 5th Joint Conference of the Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital and the Mayo Clinic (Mayo Eugenio Litta Children’s Hospital). The collaboration effort began in 2002, with the goal of improving medical assistance in the pediatrics field. During the three-day event, they will discuss experiences in the medical field, the state of the art procedures of specialists, and advanced medicine.
There will be particular focus on child abuse. Two world-renowned centers for childhood care and assistance will address the issue of how to raise standards in taking care of these little patients. The Conference will feature sessions for doctors, sessions for nurses, and one medical-nursing joint session. The exchange of ideas and experiences will touch upon both the doctor’s and nurses’ areas of service. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 24/9/2008)
