AFRICA/GHANA - Archbishop of Kumasi resigns, successor appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on March 26, 2008 accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the archdiocese of Kumasi, presented by Archbishop Peter Kwasi Sarpong, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Thomas Kwaku Mensah of Obuasi, Ghana, as archbishop of Kumasi (Ghana). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 27/3/2008; righe 5, parole 56)
