AFRICA/ANGOLA - Bishop of Benguela resigns, successor nominated

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI, on February 18, 2008, accepted the resignation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Benguela (Angola), presented by Bishop Oscar Lino Lopes Fernandes Braga, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Holy Father has nominated Bishop Eugenio Dal Corso, P.S.D.P. to be Bishop of Benguela (India). Until now, Bishop Eugenio Dal Corso, P.S.D.P. has been Bishop of Saurimo (Angola). (S.L.)
