National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies confirmed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 23 November 2007, appointed Rev. Elias Peter Kingamkono of the clergy of the diocese of Mbeya, Tanzania, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Tanzania for a five year term (23 November 2007-22 November 2012) .
The new National Director was born on 23 May 1964 at Kandete Kyela. He attended St. Joseph's seminary and Peramiho Seminary and was ordained a priest on 30 July 1997. He has since ministered a follows: assistant priest at Mkulwe (1997); assigned to the diocese of Zanzibar (1999); returned to the diocese of Mbeya (2002); studies in Missiology at the Pontifical Urban University (2003-2006); assistant priest at Songwe (2006).
