Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 25 July appointed Rev. Tapan Camillus De RozarioClarck de la Cruz of the archdiocesan clergy of Dhaka, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Bangladesh for a five year term (25.7.2007-24.7.2012), il, del clero.
The new National Director was born on 7 August 1958 and he was ordained a priest on 19 November 1986 in Dhaka by Pope John Paul II during his pastoral visit to Bangladesh. Ha studied philosophy and theology at Holy Spirit Major Seminary in Dhaka and specialised in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. He has ministered as follows: Docent in Sacred Scripture at Holy Spirit Seminary, assistant priest and parish priest, Professor of Christian Religion at the World Religion Department at the University of Dhaka, assistant-secretary general of the Bishops Conference.
