ASIA/INDIA - Appointment of the Bishop of Rourkela

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Holy Father Francis, on 26 July 2013, appointed Rev.do Kishore Kumar Kujur of the clergy of Sambalpur, Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Regional Seminar Orissa as Bishop of the Diocese of Rourkela (India).
Rev.do Kishore Kumar Kujur was born on 6 January 1964 in Gaibira, Diocese of Rourkela, Orissa. He graduated at the Saint Francis de Sales College, in Nagpur and entered the Minor Seminary in Sambalpur in 1980. He then carried out, from 1982 to 1984, the Orientation at St. John's Regional Seminary, continuing his studies in philosophy at St. Charles Seminary, in Nagpur, from 1984 to 1987. He completed his theological studies at the Khristo Jyoti Mohavidyaloyo Regional Theologate in Sason. He has a Bachelor of Arts, a Licentiate and a Doctorate in Sacred Scripture.
He was ordained a priest on 7 February 1993 and incardinated in the Diocese of Sambalpur.
After ordination he has held the following positions: 1993-1995: Assistant priest in Balangir; 1996-2000: He studies at the Biblicum in Rome; 2001-2003: Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Regional Seminary in Orissa; since 2003 Responsible of the Seminarians of the Diocese of Sambalpur; 2004-2006: Studies for a doctorate at the Angelicum in Rome; since 2007: Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Regional Seminary of Orissa; since 2010: Member of the College of Consultors; since 2010: Member of the Council of Priests.
