La Paz (Agenzia Fides) – This past weekend, September 12-13, the territorial Prelature of Corocoro (suffragan of La Paz, Bolivia) launched its Permanent Continental Mission. During the Mass for the launching of the mission, Bishop Toribio Ticona of the Prelature reminded those present that from the day of our baptism, “we become prophets of the Lord and we are called to announce the Good News without shame or fear.” Thus, “we cannot be afraid of being Catholics and Christians,” especially if “our faith is founded on the life of the Holy Trinity, which is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” The path to take, the Bishop said in his homily, “cannot be reduced to one word, and the mission does not end today, but begins with these sandals, symbol of what is worn by the Fisherman.” The sandals, are the symbol that Bishop Ticona chose for the launching of the mission, with a Bible and a flyer on the Mission, which will be sent to all the parishes.
