Guatemala City (Fides Service) - “The fact that we have assumed responsibility both for the preparation of CAM 2 and for the celebration of Mission Year has united us all the more and given us the chance to engage in common activities for the good of mission ad gentes among the peoples of Central America”. This was affirmed by National Directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Central American countries who met 13 - 15 October in San Jose, Costa Rica. The national directors personally involved in preparing for CAM 2 which will take place in Guatemala City 25 to 30 November, met to discuss plans to accommodate about 3.000 participants from all over America. The meeting also discussed “post-CAM” activities in San José de Costa Rica for the presentation of the finals conclusions of the 2nd American Mission Congress CAM.
Father Vicente Gil National Director in Panama, Father Manuel Peña national director in Costa Rica, Mgr Ismael Serrano national director in Nicaragua, Father. Ismael Vargas national director in Salvador and Father Antonio Bernasconi national director in Guatemala voiced satisfaction for preparations so far and especially for fruitful common activity for the benefit of the mission. The meeting closed with a concelebration of the Eucharist at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Angels Patroness of Costa Rica. The Mass was presided by Mons.
