Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, on 15 July 2006, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Mymensingh (Bangladesh), presented by Bishop Francis Anthony Gomes in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, can. 401 § 1. The Holy Father appointed Bishop of Mymensingh (Bangladesh) Bishop Paul Ponen Kubi, CSC, until now titular Bishop of Torre di Tamalleno and auxiliary of the same diocese. (S.L.)
