AFRICA/CHAD - Appointment of the new director of the Pontifical Mission Societies

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On April 22, 2024, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed Rev. Fr Benoit Mbainada of the clergy of Mondou as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Chad for a five-year term.
The newly appointed director of the Pontifical Missionary Societies is 55 years old and was ordained a priest in 1999. After his priestly ordination, he was appointed Parish Priest in Solidium in the parishes of Bao-Mbalkabra (1999-2001), parish moderator of the parishes Deli-Ndoguindi and almost parish of Krim-Krim (2001-2005), Parish Priest of "Saint Jean" Parish of Dombao (/2007-2011), Administrator of the parishes "Bon Pasteur de Koutou" (2011-2012) and "SSPP" of Doyon (Moundou: 2013-2014), Parish Priest of the parishes "SSPP" of Doyon (Moundou: 2014-2015), "Croix Glorieuse" of Krim Krim (2015-2019), Cathedral "Sacré Coeur" de Mondou (2019-2020), Member of the Diocesan Commission for Vocations (2000-2005) and Head of the same Commission 2005-2023), Secretary General of the National Commission for Vocations (2006-2013), Spiritual Director "du foyer séminaire" (2007-2013), Vicar General (2009-2020). Member of "L'Equipe Pastorale Diocésaine" since 2019, Secretary General of the National Commission for Vocations (2021-2023), Diocesan Chaplain of the "Dewnodji" movement since 2022.
