Appointment of Bishop of Kurnool

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On August 11, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed the rev. Father Thomam Peringalloor, SVD, 68 (2/11/1955) and 39 years of priesthood (5/5/1984) as Rector of the interdiocesan "Khrist Premalaya Regional Philosophate Seminary" in the archdiocese of Bhopal (India). He speaks Hindi, English, Italian and German. He was Deputy Parish Priest (1985-1988).
He holds a Doctorate in Missiology, obtained in Rome (1988-1990, 1993-1996). He was Director of a formation house (1996-2002, 2017-2019), Vice Rector and Rector of various Seminaries including St. Peter’s College in Rome (2007-2014). From 2020 to 2022 he was the Rector of Khrist Premalaya Regional Theologate (KPRT) in Bhopal. (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 27/10/2023)
