Shijiazhuang (Agenzia Fides) - The Chinese Catholic women united in the Saint Anne Association, based in the Chinese province of Hebei, continue their path of Christian life marked by moments of spiritual deepening and initiatives of shared charity. In August, the spiritual retreat shared by the members of the Association was dedicated to the theme of Christian marriage as a vocation and a condition for asking and experiencing in ordinary life the fruits of salvation given by Jesus. During the meditations, two priests from Shijiazhuang, Fathers Li Zhiyi and Liang Guochen, highlighted the specific charism of the Association, which was also created to emphasize the indispensable role of women in the apostolic mission of each ecclesial community. A role exercised by women at home, in the Church, in the workplace, in the ordinary social life.
In the 33 years since its founding, the Association of Catholic Women Dedicated to Saint Anne has promoted a myriad of charitable initiatives, also supporting bishops and priests in the exercise of their ministry.
The First St. Anne's Association of Hebei Province was founded by Paul Jiang Taoran (July 27, 1926 - November 15, 2010), Bishop of Zhengding Diocese (now Shijiazhuang), on December 8, 1990, the Solemnity of the 'Immaculate Conception.
Since then, the headquarters of the Association was placed in the cathedral. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides, 26/8/2023)
