Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father erected the Diocese of Wote (Kenya) with dismembered territories of the Diocese of Machakos, making it a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Nairobi. The Holy Father appointed first Bishop of the Diocese of Wote, His Exc. Msgr. Paul Kariuki Njiru, currently Bishop of Embu. The new Diocese of Wote in Kenya [voten(sis)] is located in Makueni County.
