Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On May 4, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed the Rev. Gaetan Bissa of the clergy in Ebolowa, as Rector of Mary Queen of the Apostles Interdiocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Yaoundé.
The new Rector is 43 years old and has been a priest for 17 years. He studied philosophy at the Marie-Reine des Apôtres Seminary in Otélé (1998-2001), he holds a Licentiate in Theology and a Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran University (2017).
Since his ordination he has held the following positions: assistant parish priest of the Parish of Sainte Marie Médiatrice in Mikane (2006), assistant parish priest of the Cathedral of Ebolowa (2007), head of health pastoral care (2008-2010), diocesan bursar (2010), vice rector of the Jean XXIII minor Seminary (2011-2012), diocesan chancellor and parish priest of the Saint Jean-Paul II parish in Ebolowa (2018-2020).
