Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On June 23, the Holy Father appointed Rev. Eusebius Jelous Nyathi, of the clergy of Hwange, currently Rector of the SS. John Fisher and Thomas More National Major Seminary of Chishawasha in the Archdiocese of Harare.
His Exc. Msgr. Eusebius Jelous Nyathi was born on August 2, 1974 in Hwange. After attending the Minor Seminary of Dete he then entered the Propaedeutic Seminary of Mazowe. He obtained a Diploma in Philosophy and a Baccalaureate in Theology at the National Seminary of Chishawasha, Harare. He was ordained a priest on June 17, 2004 for the Diocese of Hwange.
He held the following offices and carried out further studies: Vice-Rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary and Vice-Promoter of Vocations (2004-2005); Parish priest of St. Mary's, head of the mission and Director of the Chimuniko Pastoral Center (2005-2008); Rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary and Promoter of Vocations (2008-2011); Specialization studies in theology in Tenerife, Spain (2011-2013); since 2014, Teacher and Formator of the SS. John Fisher and Thomas More National Major Seminary; Vice-Rector for the Theology section of the SS. John Fisher and Thomas More Major Seminary (2015-2022); since 2016, Diocesan Delegate for the permanent formation of the clergy; until now, Rector of the SS.
