Lyon (Agenzia Fides) - Preparations are beginning in view of World Mission Week scheduled from October 16 to 23, 2022. The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in France have already begun to raise awareness of this important event of the year through a series of proposals and suggestions. "Every year the Church invites us to meet in October to rekindle the universal missionary impulse - writes Corentin Dugast, responsible for the pastoral animation of the French PMS -. The Lord tells us: "You will be my witnesses". Let us become aware of this individual call to become witnesses of Jesus in the world: witnesses of his love, of his tenderness, of his mercy and of his paternal tenderness".
There are different and many tools offered by the French PMS for the animation of World Mission Week which can be prayer evenings and adoration in one's parish or the organization of a Eucharistic celebration for the evangelization of peoples. At the base of every initiative: prayer and offering for the missions. On the site there is already some material to download, insights on the theme of the message proposed by Pope Francis for World Mission Day, the liturgical scheme proposed for the Eucharistic celebration on Sunday dedicated to the missions.
In addition, a communicative approach is also offered to talk about World Mission Week in one's parishes with a calendar that helps to better program the themes and messages.
