Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - During the CXVIII Ordinary Plenary Assembly of the Venezuelan Bishops, the Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Venezuela, Fr. Ricardo Elías Guillén, presented the Domund 2022 campaign (Sunday, October 23) to the Archbishops and Bishops of Venezuela.
The Campaign for October 2022 is inspired by the verse proposed in the Holy Father's message for World Mission Day "You will be my witnesses" (Acts 1,8) and will have as its theme "Missionaries with the Holy Spirit to the ends of the earth". It will try to highlight the testimony of the missionaries who have accepted the call of the Holy Spirit to be his witnesses.
"The Church - reads a press release from the Venezuelan PMS - is called to come out of itself and to go to the peripheries, not only geographic, but also existential peripheries: those of the mystery of sin, those of pain, those of injustice, those of religious ignorance, those of thought, those of all misery". The National Direction has prepared Missionary Animation Subsidies for children, adolescents, youth, families, older adults and consecrated life, as well as a manual for celebrations and the missionary novena, which wants to be a guide for prayer and reflection on the physical and existential "peripheries" and the missionary response of the Church for each of them.
The Domund 2022 Campaign of the Direction of the PMS of Venezuela will also be an opportunity to remember and celebrate the important anniversaries of the foundation of the Pontifical Mission Societies this year. (see Fides, 3/5/2022). (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 18/7/2022)
