Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - A solemn Eucharistic procession marked the celebration of the solemnity of Corpus Christi at the Beijing Seminary on Sunday, June 19. Coinciding with "Father's Day" in the country, the seminarians paid homage and expressed their gratitude to the Heavenly Father, and then to the priest educators and professors of the Seminary, for their paternal accompaniment along the vocational journey. According to information sent to Fides, in view of the summer holidays and the conclusion of the school exams, all the seminarians participated in the celebration recalling the Sacrament of Love that our Lord left us, the great Mystery of our faith. The homily was entrusted to Fr. Joseph Chen, a young priest ordained in 2019, who highlighted: "every Eucharistic celebration means being united with him; it is an experience of community communion".
Since it was Father's Day, the seminarians prayed especially for their formators and for all fathers. In the convivial meeting that followed the celebration, they once again expressed their gratitude for the formation received, especially the spiritual one, invoking serenity and inner peace for all the priests. Before the solemnity of Corpus Christi, the exams and thesis defense of 14 seminarians from the Faculty of Philosophy for the 2019 academic year were held on June 16. Previously, 12 theology seminarians from the 2014 academic year had defended their theses on June 9th. All of them have successfully passed the tests and are now carrying out their pastoral and social practices. The Rector of the Seminary urged everyone to put into practice the philosophical and theological training received, to nurture the physical, spiritual and moral experience, to form pastoral sensitivity; to serve the Lord, the Church and the people of God.
