AFRICA/NAMIBIA - Appointment of the Rector of the “St. Charles Lwanga” National Major Seminary in Windhoek

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On April 7, 2022 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Rev. Fr. Taiju Thaliath, of the Carmelites of the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate (CMI) as Rector of the "St. Charles Lwanga" National Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Windhoek.
The new Rector was born on May 13, 1974 in Kerala, India. He received his Doctorate in Missiology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University. After a few years of priestly ministry in India, in 2017 he was sent to the "St. Charles Lwanga" Major Seminary, where he held the position of formator, professor and director of studies. He is also chaplain of the prison in Windhoek and Prefect of his religious congregation in Namibia. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 20/6/2022)
