OCEANIA/PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Appointment of the Rector of the "Good Shepherd" Philosophical Seminary in Banz, Archdiocese of Mount Hagen

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On March 10, 2022 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Clement Papa, of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Mount Hagen, Rector of the "Good Sheperd" Philosophical Seminary in Banz, in the Archdiocese of Mount Hagen in Papua New Guinea.
The new Rector is 51 years old and has been a priest for 22 years. He studied philosophy and theology in the Seminaries in Banz and Bomana. He obtained a licentiate in dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University (2004-2006). He studied at Regis College in Toronto, Canada (2009-2010). He was Assistant Parish Priest, Parish Priest, Lecturer, Vicerector and Rector (2011-2014) of Banz Seminary. In 2021 he received his PhD in Systematic Theology from Theology Melbourne College of Divinity, Australia. At the time of his appointment as Rector he was a teacher in the same Seminary in Banz.
