Santiago (Agenzia Fides) - The National Commission for Catechesis, in view of the "Day of the Catechist 2022", which will be celebrated in Chile on Saturday 28 May, the eve of the Ascension of the Lord, invited catechists to reflect on the question: "how can a catechist contribute, from synodality, to building a more fraternal country?".
According to the note released by the Episcopal Conference, with the motto of the Day 2022, "Catechists, servants in a synodal spirit, for a more fraternal Chile", the organizers promoted this year's celebration, valuing the service of catechists during the strongest period of the pandemic, as well as their commitment and dedication to continue accompanying catechists in their growth and maturation in Christian life. "The invitation is to look at reality with the eyes and with the heart - continues the note , opening up to a discernment, in which one can discover that there are new, good and beautiful things that begin to germinate, but which the catechists must take care to make grow and mature". Catechesis is a permanent action, in a specific place, in specific contexts and in complex times, which is why we need "servants with a synodal spirit", who are involved in this great process of renewal that the Church is called to carry out in faithfulness to Jesus Christ. On the website specially created for the occasion, it is possible to download various materials, the poster for the Day of the Catechist, a liturgical proposal for the celebration, contributions prepared by various dioceses and some videos with the responses of catechetical leaders diocesan to the question "how can a catechist contribute, from synodality, to building a more fraternal country?".
