AFRICA/KENYA - Kitale (Agenzia Fides) - The ethnic Pokot population of Kitelakapel in Kenya has a new home for the Lay Comboni Missionaries (LMC). The Bishop of Kitale Diocese, Msgr. Maurice Anthony Crowley officially inaugurated and blessed the new house of Kitelakapel located in the parish of Kacheliba on Sunday, May 15, 2020. Animated by the option for the poor and the abandoned, the Lay Comboni Missionaries live integrated in the local Church, doing missionary animation in the parishes and in the social context in which they live, they are committed to the realities poverty and marginalization, always from the perspective of service to others, for the promotion of human rights, justice and peace. "We live our missionary vocation according to the charism and spirituality of Saint Daniel Comboni", reads the note sent to Fides.
Inserted in the Comboni family, we work in close collaboration and cooperation. Following Comboni's plan to 'Save Africa with Africa'. This historic event saw the participation of members of the international community of LMC, several representatives of the Comboni Family, some confreres from Nairobi, and many Christians and students from surrounding schools.
