Maumere (Agenzia Fides) - "At the moment our life here seems to be going at a normal rhythm and our many seminarians are preparing intensively for their exams at the end of the year. In the coming months there will be various priestly ordinations and religious professions from the various Institutes. Here too Camillians will have a new priest, two deacons and ten professed religious", said Italian missionary and Camillian Father Luigi Galvani (MI), who lives and works on the Indonesian island of Flores.
The missionary, who has just returned from a visit to the Kupang community on the island of Timor, highlights that the island of Flores is the most fertile place for vocations in Indonesia, "the importance of which Pope Francis also emphasized in his message to the Camillian missionaries mentioned, whom he received in audience yesterday, May 16, 2022, on the occasion of the General Chapter with the election of the new Superior General (see Fides, 13/5/2022). We hope it will be like this for a long time - adds Fr. Galvani, who is pleased that after the restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic, there is now more freedom of movement again, "especially to visit our communities and places of vocational promotion".
The missionary concludes by expressing his joy and gratitude for the newly elected Superiors of the Order: "We are happy for the election of our Major Superiors, who are still engaged in the 59th General Chapter". (LG/AP) (Agenzia Fides, 17/5/2022)
