VATICAN - Pope Benedict XVI is to visit Poland 25 to 28 May

Vatican City (Fides Service) - On Saturday 8 April the director of the Holy See press office Dr. Joaquín Navarro-Valls released the following announcement: “From 25-28 May 2006 the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI will make an apostolic visit to Poland stopping in Warsar, Częstochowa, Krakow, Wadowice, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and Auschwitz”. The papal flight will depart from Leonardo da Vinci di Fiumicino airport (Rome) at 8.40 am local time on Thursday 25 May 2006. It is expected to arrive at Warszawa-Okęcie (Poland) 11am local time of Thursday 25 May 2006. The papal flight will depart from Krakow-Balice airport (Poland) at 8pm Sunday 28 May 28 2006 and should arrive at Ciampino airport (Rome) at 9.50pm, local time Sunday 28 May 2006. (S.L.)
