Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On February 11, 2022 Tthe Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Yei (South Sudan), presented by His Exc. Msgr. Erkolano Lodu Tombe. The Holy Father appointed Rev. Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo, of the clergy of Yei, currently Formator, Professor and Treasurer of the St. Paul National Major Seminary in Juba, as Bishop of the same Diocese.
His Exc. Msgr. Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo, was born on January 26, 1971 in Wudu (Diocese of Yei). He entered the St. Mary Minor Seminary in Juba (1989-1993) and attended the St. Paul National Major Seminary for courses in Philosophy and Theology and obtained a Diploma (1996) and a Baccalaureate (2000).
On June 24, 2001 he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Yei.
Since his ordination, he has carried out the following offices and studies: Parish Vicar of the Sacred Heart, Lomin, Kajo Keji (2001-2002); Diploma in computer science at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, Kenya (2002-2003); General Secretary of the Diocese of Yei (2002-2006); Studies in Financial Management and Administration at CORAT Africa, Nairobi, Kenya (2006-2007); Secretary General, Diocesan General Treasurer, Coordinator of Communication and Education (2006-2008); Diocesan Youth Chaplain (2008-2013); Rector of the St. Augustine Diocesan Minor Seminary in Yei (2013-2014); Licentiate in Biblical Theology at the Urbaniana University of Rome (2014-2018).
Since 2018 he has been Formator, Professor and Treasurer of the St. Paul National Major Seminary in Juba. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 14/2/2022)
