AFRICA/ZAMBIA - Appointment of the Rector of the “St. Dominic” Theological Seminary of Lusaka

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – On September 24, 2021 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Rev. Jones Chitalu Mwale, of the diocesan clergy of Kasama as Rector of the interdiocesan theological seminary "St. Dominic” in the diocese of Lusaka, Zambia.
The new Rector was born on June 6, 1969 in Kasama and was ordained a priest on August 3, 1996. He obtained a Diploma in Philosophy and Religious Studies at St. Augustine's Major Seminary in Kabwe (1992), a Bachelor's degree at St. Dominic Maior Seminary of Lusaka (1996), a Licentiate (2006) and a Doctorate (2009) in Studies for Marriage and the Family, in Rome. After his ordination, he was Assistant Parish Priest, assistant to the Bursar General and then Bursar in Chilubula, Kasama, and since 2009 a teacher of Bioethics and Human Sexuality at St. Dominic Major Seminary in Lusaka.
