Nairobi (Agenzia Fides) - "Remain strong in the faith, despite the many challenges to be faced", said the Apostolic Administrator of Nairobi Msgr. David Kamau on the occasion of the Confirmation ceremony during which he imparted the sacrament to more than 300 Catholics, including many young people and adults. Bishop Kamau reminded the faithful who came from nine sub-parishes of the All Saints Catholic Church in Komothai, Kiambu County, that the Bible is full of challenges that God's people successfully faced. "For this reason I urge you to make the Bible the reference point for our faith", reads the note from the Kenyan bishops sent to Fides. "The Church is a holy place, and now that you are 'adults in the faith' she expects you to be adults spiritually". In conclusion, the bishop thanked the local Christians for their commitment to pastoral development. The priest in charge of the parish of Komothai, Father Michael Mungai, explained that the high number of confirmed young people is largely due to the commitment of the many primary and secondary schools in the community.
