ASIA/VIETNAM - Appointment of coadjutor bishop of Bac Ninh

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Joseph Do Quang Khang, until now lecturer and dean of studies in the Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Saigon, as coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Bac Ninh, Vietnam.
Msgr. Joseph Do Quang Khang was born on 7 November 1965 in Thu Duc, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Hôchiminh Ville. From 1993 to 1999 he carried out his studies in philosophy and theology in the Saint Joseph Major Seminary. From 2001 to 2006 he carried out his studies in Biblical theology at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse, France, obtaining a master’s degree. From 2006 to 2010 he studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, where he was awarded a licentiate in Sacred Scripture.
He was ordained a priest on 30 June 1999 for the metropolitan archdiocese of Hôchiminh Ville.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Cho Dui (1999-2001) and from 2010 to the present, dean of studies in the Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Saigon, and lecturer in Sacred Scripture and Biblical Greek in the same seminary, and in the Catholic Institute of Vietnam.
