AMERICA - Minutes of 1st Conference of Church Movements and New Communities held in Bogota 9-12 March available on the Internet

Bogota ( Fides Service) - The general secretariat of CELAM and the department for ecclesial communion and dialogue have made available on the Internet the minutes of the 1st Conference of Church Movements and New Communities held in Bogota 9-12 March on the theme “Disciples and missionaries in Christ”. The Conference was promoted by the Pontifical Council for the Laity and the Council of Latin American Bishops’ Conferences CELAM. Participants included 180 delegates of 45 movements and communities. The Conference was organised as part of preparations for the 5th General CELAM Conference planned for May 2007 in Aparecida, Brazil.
Documents now available on the Internet include a message to the conference participants from Pope Benedict XVI and the opening talk by Cardinal Francisco Javier Errázuriz archbishop of Santiago de Chile and CELAM president; conferences: Church Movements and New Communities: the Holy Spirit’s reply to the challenge of evangelisation today” Archbishop Stanislaw Rylko, president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. “Church Movements and New Communities in the local Church” (Mons.
