Bangui (Agenzia Fides) - On Saturday, July 24, the priestly ordination of Father Davide Camorani was celebrated, a priest of the Society for African Missions (SMA), who is preparing to leave for the Central African Republic on September 21. This is the first time that the Italian Province of SMA missionaries has sent its missionaries to Central Africa.
The SMA Fathers have addressed their appeal to pray so that the departing missionaries have all the support of the Lord in this new mission.
As can be seen from the note sent to Agenzia Fides, Fr. Davide, who once arrived will have to learn the Sango language, spoken throughout Central Africa, will be helped by his confreres Father Michele Farina, and Father Carlos Bazzara.
Father Michele is currently studying French at the SMA house in Genoa Quarto. Before leaving for his mission, he will spend a period in Lyon to perfect his study of the language, which is the official language of Central Africa. Fr. Carlos, after years of missionary apostolate first in Ivory Coast and then in Niger, will take care of the formation and vocational discernment of young Central Africans who wish to become missionaries.
The entire community is also praying for the three missionaries who are leaving and for the peoples whom we will know through them. (AP/MP) (Agenzia Fides, 3/8/2021)
